Sasuke’s eyes sting. He tastes a storm in the back of his throat.
“That’s what you never understood. It wasn’t some selfish, vengeful desire to do the deed myself. I had to be the one to kill him, because I was the only one who would."
An evening conversation with Shikamaru leads Sasuke to Kakashi's office, where he finds himself speaking all the feelings he's been holding back.
