Siffrin is left traumatized from Act 3 and doesn't know how to NOT be self deprecating while spending time with their favorite kid on their friendquest. Emotions are running high. Hurt and comfort ensues.

Summary
Even now, these people wanted to make sure that Izuku was reminded that he was only playing the part of a hero, not actually being one. Izuku wasn't allowed access to heroism. Izuku was only an asset. A pawn. A tool for the Commission to use and abuse with no consequence to themselves.
