Los dientes de Shanks estaban teñidos de rojo por su propia sangre, un golpe del mango de Yoru que no había visto venir hasta que fue demasiado tarde. El pelirrojo también estaba cubierto de cortes provocados por la hoja negra que blandía Dracule Mihawk y que, ahora, estaba enterrada al lado de su cabeza, amenazante e imponente. El olor metálico se mezclaba con la sal, rasgando las gargantas de ambos hombres e inundando sus pulmones.
El duelo había acabado, pero aun así, se encontraban en un impasse.

Marco stood in the middle of the old battleground, shoulders squared and tense, digging deep into the earth. The field was covered in several holes, some of them better covered than others, some still open to the warm air of midday, at top the squares of stirred earth stones and carefully cut wooden sticks stood proudly; a marking. Graves. Marco was digging graves for their fallen brothers, must have probably been at it for those two entire days given how many Izo could count.

“Marco the Phoenix, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?” Beckman spoke as the zoan-user landed upon the wooden railing, digging in his flaming talons.
“You promised me a cigarette once, Benn Beckman.” was the answer he received, hand in hand with a playful smirk. An expression of confidence, of mischievousness and things the first mate couldn’t read.

And wasn’t that the crux of it all?
What lay there, at the center of the dungeon, hungry and endlessly starving was a creature from another plane, a demon with its own plans, its own desires and all of the power that humans could lust for. A perfect match some might say and if those words were tainted with the saccharine tone of an otherworldly voice, who was a greedy human to question it? They’d rather welcome it with open arms and open mouths to swallow everything it would feed to them.
