But he promised he’d do what was best for Bokuto, and by extension what is best for Kuroo and Kenma. For all of his time spent thinking about them, he never considers anything beyond their personalities and their quirks. He likes all of them, maybe even loves them, but not in the way the three of them love each other. Not that all-consuming, passionate love that compels them towards the ultimate show of adoration for one another.
Keiji doesn’t want to drag them down. He doesn’t want to make them feel unloved, or unworthy of some deeper connection. He doesn’t want to burden them, to force them to bend to his strange and frankly probably erroneous view of sex. So he decides, if any of his three friends were to confess to him, he would refuse, no matter how badly he wants to say yes. For their good.
(Or, Keiji wonders if he's broken, somehow.)
