Summary
Joyce looks startled when the door opens before she can actually knock on it, her hand in mid air, her coat half on, and her hair askew in the winter air. Then her hand drops and she shrugs, "I guess the school called you before me, huh?"
Dallas grunts, opening the door wider. "Yeah, they did. I was about to head out — you need a ride?" He doesn't mind Joyce at all — it was no wonder that she and Ponyboy were friends. They were similar: small, slightly anxious omegas who were a lot smarter than most people took them for. The main difference was that Joyce was about ten years older than Ponyboy, and she was freshly divorced from that piece of shit Lonnie and all that came with it.
Dallas and Joyce's kids are in trouble. Again.

Summary
In the fall of 1960, Ponyboy Curtis goes missing without a trace. Which doesn't make sense — there's no evidence of where he might gone, of who could've taken him, and as the hours keep going, panic begins to grip Tulsa.
The only person who seems to know what's going on is Dallas. And Dallas is the only person who knows that there is a trace of Ponyboy to be found: in the static of the television in the Curtis home, calling for help.
Dallas isn't a hero. Except maybe for this one time...

Summary
November, 1980: Ponyboy Curtis wakes up one night to a phone call no parent wants to get in Hawkins. It's a good thing he was already with the Police Chief when it came through.
Jenny Curtis goes to Nancy Wheeler's 13th birthday sleepover and instead of having a good time, finds that her friendship with the other girl is not what she thinks it is. Furious, she intends to go home without taking her shoes, in an autumn night.
Neither of them know that one tiny cut, and a swell of blood puts Jenny right in the target of an unknown monster, and kickstarts events that bring Jenny's birth father back into her life and pushes Eleven into the Upside-Down for the very first time.

Summary
What helps further is that the light is on in her bedroom, seen even though the blinds are down, which usually means she's home, and it's a relief when the blinds immediately pop up and Jenny peers at him, her thick eyebrows raised. She's in her usual: a white blouse and white jeans, and she yanks open her window easily with, "Parents are at it again?"
Fall, 1980. Jonathan can't take his parents arguing anymore, so he goes to his best friend's house.
