You however have found yourself back in that world and so long were the days you could spend doing nothing. Along with the shift back to a world you once left behind is the figure of Joel Miller, who is as magnetizing as he is irritating that is now a part of your daily life.

    Summary

“If we’re supposed to be friends, maybe you could answer at least one of my questions straight?”

His face crumpled into a deep, exaggerated frown. “Where would be the fun in that?”

She arched an eyebrow and stared him down, but he didn’t look away. He leaned into it, his gaze locked on hers, as if they were sharing an inside joke.

“Can you keep a secret?” he asked.

A smile whispered across her lips like a punchline. “I guess you’re about to find out.”

    Summary

    “Are you okay?”

“No,” you faintly reply, words muffled from speaking into his chest, “but I’m pretty good at faking it, so let’s just go with that.”

Something that might have been a snort of modulated laughter eclipses the roaring in your ears.

“It’s my fault. Shouldn’t have pulled you up so fast.”

Buddy, there are so many ‘shouldn’ts’ going on right now that you shouldn’t even try to count.

The beskar’s reassuring solidity against your brow helps slow the spinning in your head, and you shift to rest your cheek on its cool, glassy surface. Ordinarily you wouldn’t dream of invading someone's space, but between the asthma attack, the nosebleed, and this science fiction clusterfuck, any semblance of sanity was long gone.

The realization his posture has gone rigid, and you’ve all but tucked your head under his chin rapidly clears the cobwebs, however. You twist out of his grip, blurting out an apology as you hastily step back to a safe arm’s length away. Of all the strangers in the galaxy to cuddle up to, you pick a Mandalorian?

An over-educated, underpaid millennial finally gets to go on her first adventure.

    Summary

Albert Camus said that "A man is always a prey to his truths. Once he has admitted them, he cannot free himself from them,” and it made me wonder how we justify romantic affairs — if we are free when we enter them in secrecy, or only truly free when we have burned the bridges we ran over to reach the arms of the other.

Naomi is married, Joel is married, and they can't stay away from each other.
