Summary
Fred Weasley should be dead. That sounded impolite, but it was the truth. It was because Hermione Granger had been a conniving little so-and-so. That also sounded impolite but was equally as true.
Thirty chest compressions, and then two rescue breaths. To do so, you lift the person’s chin, pinch their nose, and seal their mouth with your own before blowing for one second.
When Hermione Granger was young, she read that on a poster in her parents’ dental office. Among the posters of people smiling, pleased with their teeth, it stood out to her. Little did she know that it would pay off and lead to Fred Weasley's survival.
Fred is glad that the only major injuries were the large scar on the left side of his face and complete blindness in his left eye. After Hermione’s rescue, it was as if he saw her for the first time and realised with embarrassing clarity that he was actively seeking her out, not just in the way he would his friends.
In a weird twist of events, the pair bond over their invigorated love of the Muggle world, especially after a war so reliant on magic.
