Helen loves and cherishes each of her coworkers at New Amsterdam and has told them all as such - they are her family.
Except when it comes to Max, her boss, best friend and partner in crime, she can never quite utter the words aloud. To him, or anyone else. She’s not quite sure why when she’s had no problem with Iggy, Floyd, Lauren or even Vijay, but she thinks it has something to do with the way her heart beats out of her chest when she touches him. Something to do with the way he looks at her - the same way she knows she looks at him.
