Summary
Dean's sixteen when he meets John's well-to-do boss, Castiel Novak, and he's quick to develop a crush during a time where he's only begun to discover his preferences. He dates the beautiful Lisa and practically raises his younger brother Sam, because it's what John expects. But Castiel appears to see Dean in a way no one else does, and despite him knowing there's no way anything can happen between them, he relishes in the idea that Castiel cares at all for his well-being.
Between mounting pressures from a teenage Sam that no longer wants a caretaker, John's nudging for Dean to follow a career path he doesn't want, and a mysterious check for the exact amount of one semester at the school Dean had been eyeing, Dean finds himself reconnecting with Castiel.
And Castiel has a very interesting proposition for him.

Like everyone else Dean has always looked forward to his 21st birthday, when his countdown timer would appear and tell him how much longer he had until he met his soul mate. And at least then he would know whether or not he was an alpha like John always wanted, even though the name of his soul mate was written in a weird language he couldn't read.
But then it actually happened, and Dean was positive he actually met his soul mate... unless that was a dream. On the other hand, as the years go by and his countdown ticks away, the increased strength and vision, lack of a need for food or sleep, and weird new growths on his back that seem to be growing feathers(?!) suggest otherwise...

Bookmarker's Notes
One of the first Castiel and Dean fanfics I've ever read. Reread it now like a few years later and realized it was STILL as good as when I read it when I was younger. Loved it 10/10. Love when they include castiel's wings and then the humor in this story was TOP TEIR, love love love.

Due to the savagely enthusiastic nature of goblin Heat in comparison to the lighter and more teasing mating rituals of the Fairies, Griselda (super awkwardly) advises a separation between Marianne and Bog until the Heat passes. Not willing to lose more of her already limited time with Bog, Marianne chooses to stay and face the challenge.

One of the BEST fanfics I’ve ever read. Stayed on my mind for WEEKS after I read it. The road trips, the yearning and the tension was out of this world. Was literally the first fic I ever remembered the title of and its the first one I can think of that had me so hooked I quite literally needed to reread it again after I first read it, until I tried to find other fics like it and was so disappointed. The author is amazing, the writing, scenes, dialogue, and characters were so so so so amazing. Can't stretch that enough.
