Gi-hun was more than tired. He had been more than tired since he witnessed the deaths of the friends he made in the first game he participated in, maybe even before that. Maybe his daughter had been his only reason for holding onto his pathetic existence back then, he could tell that now. He really could tell, holding this baby who wasn’t even his, who didn’t even have a name. He should’ve asked Jun-hee what she wanted to name her, maybe then he would’ve been able to let go easier.
Not only that, but he thought about the soulmate he never had the chance to meet. He’s had his sign, which came in the form of sharing his soulmate’s emotions in his case, since he was a child. Somehow he and his soulmate had just never crossed paths, and maybe that was just how it was meant to be. The universe’s last way of telling him he truly had nothing left.
