Then again, some people don’t let him know about happenstances out of pure need to gossip (unlike Hoseok, who stands number 2 on Jimin’s Top Gossipmonger List, right after Kim Taehyung), but out of duty towards the pack. After all, some information could be crucial for the safety and security of the pack.
The news of an incoming unknown alpha would also technically be of concern with respect to pack security.
Hoseok’s “heads-up” had been more along the lines of “Jimin omg there’s new eye candy incoming, better work on your self-control, lest you become a free-flowing tap at first sight ;)” than out of any concern towards the pack whatsoever.

Summary
As a neurodivergent person, Jungkook is rather infamous amongst his family and friends for getting distracted. Jimin has always calmed his brain, but he also has the effect of having Jungkook so hyperfocused on him that the inside of Jungkook’s brain is literally just the seagulls from Finding Nemo- the one singular thought shared among his 4 brain cells being Jimin and Jimin alone.
He’s always had to shake himself out of such reveries when hanging out with Jimin.
Right now, though, he can afford to be so engrossed.
