“You’d be a devil at it,” he said mildly. “Your ability to get in close with a blade like that? Even a long dagger would make you terrifying.”
His compliments were still so strange, even though she knew he was sincere.
“Well, I wouldn’t stab you,” Rose told him quietly.
Dimitri put the sword back carefully. “That can be a dangerous promise. But I don’t foresee that outcome anymore. We got through the first week of early training without an attempt on my life.”
