Summary
Hallownest isn't just dying, it's dead. Perhaps that isn't such a bad thing. Perhaps, in the ashes of this kingdom, friendship and love can rise. And that's to say nothing of Pharloom...
Series title is a song lyric from the RWBY song All Things Must Die because, well, yes. They do. Doesn't mean they have to stay dead, though, expect an above-average level of character death fix-its even by my standards and generally working to make things better against overwhelming odds. Hornet turns up a lot because I love her and because I thought it would be fun to give her quite a lot of game with the ladies.

Summary
Crownguard Sarai was already married when the Crown Prince caught her eye - but neither her husband Damien nor Prince Harrow seemed to mind. Harrow married them both against the advice of the king and his best friend, Viren. With the assistance of the kingdom's finest healers, Damien was able to manage his breathing sickness and has hope of actually seeing their sons grow up.
Duren still petitioned Katolis for their help after years of drought, and Viren still came up with the plan to harvest the heart of the magma titan. None of the three queens returned to the Pentarchy. Seven years later, Viren attempted to incite King Harrow to avenge the death of his wife, but Damien talked him out of it.
Now, Viren still needs an excuse to get to the hoard of the King and Queen of the dragons - and Damien has accidentally handed him the perfect bait for the young princes.Basically: Damien Lives AU where they still believe Sarai to be dead, and Damien points out how monumentally stupid Harrow's vengeance was.

Summary
What if Rayla was right, and killing Ezran couldn't have freed the assassins because they were bound to avenge a death that hadn't yet happened? Runaan wavers in his convictions and gathers the other assassins to her cause. He will have to learn to let Rayla forge her own path, as she will learn to step out of the shadows cast by all of her parents. These human princes show a level of honor and respect to the elves that the assassins are unused to, and both sides must question everything they were taught.
Note: major character death is in reference to King Harrow, who is not actually dead, but everyone in the story will believe that he is and it's narrated as such, so it's getting the warning anyways. No one else is going to die I promise.
