Kurt Kelly walked into the Westerberg High with his hands in his pockets, but something was not right: He- along with Ram Sweeney, Heather Chandler, and even trench coat psycho kid- were supposed to be dead, and all he had to show for it was a black tattoo of a scar in his chest.
Why were they all alive? And why did no one, except him and Veronica, seemed to remember it all? Kurt knows one thing though, he has a new perspective on life, and teenage shenanigans now scare the living hell out of him.

Crimson splattered across the pavement and the boy, barely over 14, fell to the ground with a thud. As his back hit concrete, he felt blood rise in his throat, coughing. The boy inhaled sharply, and he felt sick as he saw glistening clots of his own blood, rimmed with plasma and pooling on the ground. “That’s the last time you be stealing from my shop, blondie.” This caused the blood to come up in a wave, and the boy spat it up over his clothes with an “ack-”. The man spat on the cement, giving the boy a firm kick to the chest. The man was smoking a cigarette, holding it between his fingers and drawing it from his lips as he spoke to the lanky boy.

…So the break up was unexpected. Katherine had realized she just wasn’t into him… anymore. A part of him was glad, but most of the parts were depressed. Another part of him was slowly building up its courage and confidence even though he tried to suppress it. He had loved Kath. And now, for some dumbass reason, he loved Davey. He tried to ignore it. Every time he thought it, he bit his lip until it hurt and told himself no. A relationship like that would never work.
Along with that, unexplainable pains in his throat have been throwing him off, along with splitting headaches. On top of that, he started coughing up blood and mutilated flower petals 2 days ago. He didn’t get what it meant, and he was scared.
“Heya, Dave? You- you’s in school, right?” He asked one day as he and Davey were handing out papes. He put his hat in his bag, counting how many papers he had left as he asked. “Since the strike, yeah. Why?” Davey had replied, cocking his head to the side and grinning. Damn that smile. Damn everything about that boy that made Jack want to be with him forever. Davey obviously doesn't like him. He knew this. So why couldn’t he just stop loving him?
