This is the Undertale fanfic to end all fanfics. In fact, calling it a fanfic even seems a little demeaning. This isn't just a fic; it's a novel. I mean, it quite literally is the length of one. And I wish I could buy it. With money. Because it is THAT IMPOSSIBLY GOOD.
All the emotions I felt playing the game for the first time, and then some- that's what I felt reading this. Everything is perfect. I've never seen the characters more in-character, the universe and canon so perfectly woven in, and with so much life it rivals the game itself. This is Undertale with even MORE life breathed into it, and I didn't even know that was possible.
Look, I thought the Pacifist Ending was good, I thought it was a tear-jerker, but this...? As far as I am concerned, this is the True-True Pacifist Ending. This is canon for me. This is everything anybody could have ever hoped for. It's a better ending for Asriel. It's a better ending for everyone. The writing is impeccable. The way the author ties up so many loose ends and makes everything come full circle in such a completely satisfying way, I am pretty certain I /literally/ felt my heart swell in my chest. And I cried. Multiple times. (You probably will too. It's okay. Just embrace it.)I honestly can't sing this story's praises enough. Genuinely, 100%, one of the best stories I have ever read. Period.
