It is not until the fellowship is invited to dinner with Elrond that the fellowship finds out about the childhood event that left the elf silent (but not unspoken). Loathing to relive the memories, Legolas leaves the table and Aragorn follows to give his lover comfort.

…which is why, everyone is also surprised that for this year’s Bring Your Family to Work Day, the two doctors show up together with two kids.
