Summary
The funeral was insufferably hot. Of course, it would be. Bashir wore all black, a mourning suit in the traditional Cardassian style that Garak had made for him years ago to attend his first state funeral as the Castellan’s spouse. He wondered if, in the back of his mind, Garak had known Bashir would someday wear it to this very occasion.
He was sweating entirely too much for such a somber event. The black fabric drew the heat of the suns, and he was beginning to feel lightheaded by the time they finally adjourned.
He sat on the steps of the funeral home, and Jeri brought him some cold water to drink and fanned him ineffectually with a floral arrangement. Smoke was rising from the crematorium.
He’s really gone.
***
In which Garak and Bashir never mended their relationship from the wartime wounds, rushed into a politically-motivated marriage, and broke each other’s hearts. Oh, and Garak fakes his own death. Don’t worry, the story does get happier.

Summary
With O’Brien away, Julian needs someone else to play the evil villain in his secret agent holosuite program. Garak steps up. But tying Julian to a bedpost and fake-torturing him turns out to be an accidental turn-on for both of them. Julian doesn’t want to break character, so allows Garak to escalate his erotic domination towards the point of no return – yet Garak won’t go any further with their roleplay without clear consent. Now Julian has to figure out a way to show Garak he wants him without saying it outright. (But then again, maybe saying it matters.)

Summary
As far as Julian is concerned, there’s no possible future between him and Garak, and it would be better to remain just friends. However, a conversation with Garak on the Seven Deadly Sins and the Cardassian equivalent, plus a little input from his friends, might very well change his mind.

Summary
It’s a poor pretense, stepping out onto the terrace to get some air. It’s a poor pretense, but it works, because Julian follows him outside not five minutes later. He looks handsome in his abominable Starfleet dress whites, tugging at the bottom of his jacket, a touch of silver hair at his temples. He moves differently now, a kind of surety in his long limbs that didn’t exist before.
It’s been a long time.

Summary
The object was close enough now that he saw the curves of it, the flat base, the uneven ridges of a glassmaker’s hallmark. A bottle. If it was floating, it was probably empty.
It bobbed up alongside his boat, knocking softly against the wood as if requesting permission to come aboard.
Or, Ed finds one of Stede's messages in a bottle.

"I'm in a bit of a pickle, my dear," Aziraphale said over the telephone.
Crowley was seized by immediate fury. Not even a decade, and they're at it again, he thought viciously. You'd think they'd be embarrassed enough to stay out of things for a few centuries at least, after botching the apocalypse like that.
"Who's done something to you?" hissed Crowley.
"Ah," said Aziraphale, in the quiet tone of someone who didn't mean to learn someone else's secrets and was mildly sheepish about it. "This crossword clue -- I'm stuck -- 1980s French fencer, thought you might know. It's eight letters and has a Q in it."
"Trinquet," Crowley snapped, in the tone of someone who had revealed one of his secrets and was annoyed about it.
An account pertaining to the cultivation of figs, the ecstasy of St. Theresa of Avila, the ontological uncertainty of mammoths, the nature of temptation, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the ten years following the end of the world.

“We really can’t do this, Beej.” There’s silence from behind him, and like Orpheus he just has to turn and look. BJ is standing there, tall and broad with his hands in his pockets, his eyes fixed on Hawkeye. “I mean it,” Hawkeye presses, like BJ had said anything at all, “this really can’t be a thing that we do.”

Summary
"There's an itch. It eats you up inside. It's energy packed inside a globe, then shoved in your ribcage, just big enough that it strains the bones, and every hour that you leave it there, you risk something cracking. Something bursting."
"I don't know if I'm following," BJ confesses quietly.
"It's heat. It's goosebumps. It's getting sucked into a volcano because the only other way you can go is straight into space, where there's nothing and no one and you'll never be held or touched or kissed or fucked again. It's wondering if you're even worth the touching in the first place. And it's killing the wondering before it gets too loud, because what if it's infectious? And what if you start spreading it around to everybody else?"
~~~
During a weekend of R&R in Seoul with BJ, Hawkeye is forced to reckon with a whole mountain of things he's been repressing. He just wasn't expecting to have hands-on help—not after the conversations he and BJ have shared.
Hawkeye turned in his arms, setting his chin on his hands, his palms flat over BJ’s sternum.
Their eyes met. BJ’s breath caught, his chest warming—God, was Hawkeye lovely. BJ told him so.
“With this nose?” Hawkeye asked, crossing his eyes.///
The war ends. Life doesn’t.
