Percy is Nico's 2 a.m. guy. The guy he calls when he doesn't want to be alone. The guy he calls when he needs someone to care for a few hours. Of course, that only becomes a problem when he catches feelings and suddenly Percy only being his 2 a.m. guy doesn't feel like enough.
Previously titled "Temporary Bliss"; This was originally planned to be a one-shot and then I got invested.

“You want to—” Percy cuts off, and stares some more before remembering to speak. “You want to hang out? With, um, with me?”
The thing in Nico’s body smiles, and says, “Yeah.”
So simple, just one simple word, but it makes Percy’s whole face light up, until he’s beaming from ear to ear the way he sometimes does at Annabeth, or his mother, or Grover, or Tyson, or anyone who’s not Nico, and Nico thinks to himself bitterly that maybe he should just give up the struggle and let himself fade forever, because this thing inside him is apparently so much better at making the people Nico loves happy than Nico himself ever was.
OR, Nico is possessed and the thing in his body tries to jump Percy’s bones.
