“I don’t know why he wants me,” Buck whispered, begging, pleading for Bobby to believe him. Fuck, being the cause of a firehouse siege had to be grounds for firing, he’d finally reached his last strike just weeks before his probie year ended.

And he’s terrified of that most of all ‒ the unshakeable imprint of every monstrous thing he is, every terrible thing he’s done, permanent and glaring in the faces of everything anyone knows about Steve ‘the hair’ Harrington.
