Shigeru's instructions upon leaving for Akielos had been: Smile, be charming and don't start a war. He manages all three. Maybe manages to also rope in a courtship, though in his defence, he didn't plan for Prince Kentarou.
“I don’t hate you, but that’s neither here nor there,” he hisses back, words punchy. “Were you courting me?”
The Prince only stares. Shigeru grows more fidgety.
“It was a yes or no answer, Exalted. One word. Come on.”
“What if I was?”
“Okay that is not one word. Um, I’d have to tell you no.”
“What if I wasn’t?”
“What is this, a court martial? Then I’d be offended.”
