Summary
The King of dragons is the most powerful dragon. He once defeated the great evil beast before disappearing from the world, never to be seen again. Whispers speak of the great beast coming back and of the king.
Anne Boonchuy had always dreamed of being a dragon knight like her mom. But one problem. She was denied a dragon when she was seven. She was the only person known in her village to not receive a dragon. But one day, rumors of a wounded dragon are whispered in her village. Anne comes up with a crazy idea of sneaking out and killing the dragon. But she ends up helping the dragon.
Now Anne must journey with her new dragon and Lieutenant Sasha Waybright to the capital of their world to show the return of the king and the gem she possesses. Anne wants to know why she was picked and learn the truth. Sasha has her own agenda and a secret she is harboring as well. They encounter two more traveling companions who seem innocent enough. But Marcy and Lily may be hiding more than they are letting on.
Anne will encounter new friendships, love, betrayal, truths, deceit, and forgiveness as she journeys to discover herself and fight against a monster she had only ever read about in her storybooks. -

Sasha Waybright is a soldier and hunter for the king. She soon meets the spirit face to face in the little sleepy town of Wartwood. The legendary spirit, Anne, who wishes to speak to the king. She has a warning for him. However, King Andrias is gone for unknown amount of time to locations unknown. Sasha instead takes her to the Plantars farm.
Sasha is simply buying time until she can turn Anne into the king and save the world from the spirit. But Anne is so much different than the tales make her out to be. Her interactions with the citizens of Wartwood and of Sasha changes their perspective of the spirit. For Sasha, she begins to fall in love in the spirit.Completed

Sasha let out a growl and lunged, catching the creature, whatever it was, by its hood. She wasn't about to let it get away, not without a fight.
"Get over here!"
The hood comes down, but before she can get a good look at it, something slams against the side of Sasha's face. Her hand is still in the hood, though, and so they go down together. A body landing atop Sasha's and pressing her into the dirt. Something presses against her throat-- probably the same thing that hit her in the face-- and she's forced to look up into the eyes of her attacker or risk getting her wind-pipe crushed like a twig.
"Anne?!" She wheezes.
"GRAAH!" Anne snarls, pupils the size of pinpricks.

Anne never makes it to Wartwood. At least, not on her own.
