Summary
In this story, those with the alpha and omega gene are rare and erroneously assumed to be exclusively male and female, respectively. Betas know nothing of their strange, secret universe of scents, soul bonds, and sensual appetites.
First we meet Billy Hargrove, a guilt-ridden alpha from California who spends a year wading through personal tragedy and sexual awakening before being dragged two thousand miles east to the strange, sleepy town of Hawkins, Indiana.
Then we meet Steve Harrington, a nightmare-plagued beauty who always keeps a can of Farrah Fawcett hairspray and a nail-studded baseball bat in his BMW (just in case). He may not be a genius, but there are a few things he knows with absolute certainty:
1) He is straight.
2) He is an alpha.
3) He hates Billy Hargrove.Steve will discover that none of those things are true.

Summary
“Are you okay?” Eddie asks again, words drawn out to make sure Steve understands his question, but not like he’s stupid. Gentle understanding suffuses each word.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine.”
“Not what I asked.” Eddie steps closer, and Steve turns again, putting his back to the door. They stand next to each other, arms just inches from touching, and Steve exhales harshly. On his next inhale he catches the scent of leather and roses, covered over with cheap soap and cigarette smoke. “Do you wanna talk about it?” Eddie asks.
“Not really…” Talking about it is the last thing Steve wants, but he also wants to keep standing in Eddie’s space and sharing his air.

Being an omega changes the entire trajectory of what the Harrington’s expect for their son, Steve. Then interdimensional monsters change the trajectory of Steve’s own expectations, thrusting him into a confusing world of caring friends, pack pups, and government coverups.
And a chance encounter at a party following the world’s most embarrassing drunken fight, puts him on an entirely new path towards an alpha he never would have seen otherwise.

Summary
There is no one in the world Steve Harrington has a more complicated relationship with than himself. Often, this is a comfort; it can lend context and simplicity to many situations. Sometimes, though, it just makes everything more complicated.
OR
Steve's relationship with his sexuality and a certain metal head DnD nerd who makes Steve's heart do funny things.

Summary
In which fighting a pack of interdimensional monsters was the easy part, and now Billy has to figure out how to come to terms with his new normal.
Post Season 2 AU. Pre Season 3.
I'd recommend reading part 1 (Inside Out) before jumping into this one.
"Wondering when the hell he’d become such a fucking pushover, Billy reluctantly reached up and took hold of Steve’s offered hands, locking a startled yelp in his throat when the senior misjudged his own strength – or how much Billy weighed – and used way too much force to yank him to his feet. They collided with a chorus of grunts and curses, treading on each other’s feet and briefly sharing the same air.
In the next instant Billy sent Steve stumbling backwards with a reflexive shove – the sudden closeness provoking a harsh spike of anxiety within his chest despite it being Steve – and in the instant after that he was pulling the senior back towards himself, protecting the bumbling idiot from falling ass first into the fire."
