He shrugged diminutively. “Let’s just say I was preoccupied,” he deflected.
It was partially true. There was a reason he didn’t do casual missions with Giyuu often, as he’d previously explained. He found his partner…distracting, to say the least.
Giyuu hummed before speaking up, fortunately changing the subject.
“You’re going to have another scar,” he commented quietly, his eyes flicking from Sanemi’s jawline to the cloth that was now rapidly turning from white to red.
Sanemi smirked. “I thought you liked my scars.”
Giyuu looked up at him, his expression unchanged. “I do. I find them quite…cute,” he finished eventually.
Sanemi scowled. “Cute? You find my scars cute?”
