"Stanley?"
Yup, that was his name. It was odd to hear it all the way out here. It hadn't been used in a while. Who was he right now? Andrew? His old name sounded rusty in his ears like.. a car.
Where was his car?
He once again tried to sit up and see who had called him but a sharp twinge from his head caused him to wince. It echoed against the silence of the clearing and he realized how unnaturally still everything was compared to the big city. He didn't like it at all. It was unnerving.
"Stanley! Oh my goodness!"
Well, there's no need to get in such a tizzy is there? He was just lying on the ground bleeding out and watching the snow. There's nothing wrong with that at all.

James could've laughed. It was strange, despite being here for only a month or two this place had begun to feel like home and he already knew the roads like the back of his hand. The veins that lead to his heart.
"I'll be alright," He reassured her with a smile that came so easily in the countryside.
Mrs Brown tutted but nodded and handed him the bill before walking him to his car.
But, now that he'd thought about it, maybe it would've been better to stay there until the morn'. The fog was getting worse the more he headed out and he found himself wishing he'd brought a thicker coat.

It's been almost thirty years since Shifty crawled out of the lab like a zombie rising from the grave, since Stanford Pines fell beyond their reach. Thirty years of almost nightly work on a portal that refused to obey their and Stan's commands, no matter what they did.
