Summary
Dark curios were mysterious magical objects said to have been destroyed by the ministry for their sheer power. It was said that they had the ability to rip one’s soul from unwanted emotions, and on rare occasions consume their masters in times of life-threatening danger. By freeing any person from extreme emotions in a time of peril the ability for them to exist while being in a sort of stasis prevented any mortal wound from being fatal. Those who had managed to free themselves of the device’s grip would say that they had lived for years in an alternate reality.
Two such devices had never been accounted for.

The other doorways leading to different memory fragments had been bright white lights, shedding a sallow and alarming sense of dread and somberness. The emotions radiating heavily from this opening were almost completely masked by an intense radiating heat. Akin to walking through a burning building. This doorway, cloaked in brilliant red light, was reminiscent of the kind of light used for film development.
