It wasn’t until a little while later that he realised their next match was against Aoba Johsai. As he listened to Hinata ramble on about the “great king”, he felt himself get tense. It had been three years since he had last spoken to Iwaizumi, yet in one conversation it was like he was a star struck kid again, not completely understanding why it meant so much that the older player liked him but it was important that he did.
Except Kageyama wasn’t a kid anymore, and although he still wasn’t good at expressing or even figuring out his feelings, there was one thing he knew about Iwaizumi for absolute certainty.
