A friend asked for "found fiction." Forgotten authors or long lost series and I offered a pulp story serialized in newspapers in the 30's to 40's. A pirate, I said. Airships. Pulp without the sexism / racism.
"Yavanite" is a curious mineral which allows things to levitate when heated or with a controlled electrical charge. This allowed airships and blimps to be incredibly easy to create. The tiny country of -avia was one of the few European nations with a good yavanite mine. We start with an early story. The hero, Catalus "Tom" Cel Tinar, is on the run after his country fell due to a coup, and he's in London. Jane Doe promised the story of how Tom met his best friend, Harry, and cleared his name.
