She broke the scone into even smaller pieces, took dainty sips of coffee even as it went cold, and dragged out the morning as long as she could. At the end of her cup, she poured another. If Malfoy noticed the deterrence from her usual one cup routine he ignored it. Half of a scone appeared on her plate; its other half nestled securely in Malfoy’s fingers as he lifted it to his lips.
They ate in silence, thighs pressed firmly against each other beneath the marble countertop. Hermione left for work only once her scone was gone, and her cup empty.J.K. Rowling owns all characters.
