Ron and Harry made eye contact first. Then Hermione and Harry. Draco recognized Ron and took as far a step behind Harry as his lead allowed, avoiding everyone’s eye as his heart suddenly seemed to leap to his throat and he was hyper aware of the ball gag filling his mouth behind the mask.
“Oh!” Hermione squeaked out the first sound. “Um…”
