“Was I what?” Sam prompted gently, “I’m not gonna get offended by you askin’ questions, so shoot.”
“Were you an intrinsic magic user before being a vampire?” They continued, voice slow despite having been given the okay to ask.
“Yeah.” Sam chuckled, appreciative of their concern for asking about his past, but needlessly so, the wounds healed by time and more akin to a distant memory.
