Summary
"Dude," Shen said, handing him his half-finished coffee "you look like you fought a bar and lost."
Jack took the coffee without a word. His head was pounding. His shirt still smelled faintly of someone else's cologne and sweat. And all he could do was thank whoever was watching over him, God, the universe, sheer dumb luck, Jack didn't care who to credit. The important part was that Professor Robinavitch hadn't arrived yet.
Because if there was one class he couldn't afford to mess up, it was this one.

Summary
He's nothing like the stereotypical yoga teacher Jack has been imagining. He looks more like a guy you'd see heading up a running club, middle-aged and tall and broad-shouldered, bearded but not in a hippie kind of way, and it's only when he says, "Welcome to class. You're new, right? I'm Robby. Any injuries I need to know about before we get started?" that Jack realizes he's the instructor.

Summary
Samira's taken to ambushing him in the break room, on the rare occasions their shifts overlap and he gets a chance to sit for more than a second at a time. She’s partial to diet coke and the hard, over-salted pretzels from the vending machine.
They don’t speak most of the time.

Summary
She stands frozen just outside of Robby’s periphery, so Jack sees her first, head lazily turning to face her, unaware of the havoc wreaked by his unexpected appearance. Helpless, she watches as he, too, processes the impossibility of her in this context, as his brain tries to make sense of what is in front of him. There is a subtle widening of his eyes as they track over her face and her body, a parting of his lips, like he might say something.
No, wracks through her brain, no no no. And maybe he can see the word in her expression, in the stiffening of her posture, or maybe he can still read her mind. Because after a moment, his face carefully contorts back into polite blankness, a sharp relief to the panic she is sure is still etched onto her face.
