Summary
He exhaled. His breath foggs, and he watches it, briefly alive, soft and unsure, before it then dies in the air. He wonders if that’s what he looks like to the others when he speaks. Thin, temporary, a whisper that vanishes before it reaches anyone.
They don’t like him much. He knows that. He knows the way their eyes linger on his jacket when they think he isn’t looking; the way conversations cut clean when he walks by. He doesn’t blame them. He doesn’t particularly like himself either. There is too much noise in his head and not enough warmth to burn it away.
Maybe the reason he was so cold was the fact it was night again. (It was always night, but still, he thought it every time.) The woods ahead, the only real visible thing in this night, were a mouth. Black trees, all teeth and silhouette, grinning into infinity. He stared at them until the shapes stopped looking like trees and started looking like something else. Something breathing. Something listening back.

Summary
Fingers knotting tight in the back of his shirt collar, a brutal grip that doesn’t hesitate. The body attached leans into the wreck, shadow blotting out what little light trickles through. And then Tim’s being dragged, no—yanked out in one vicious pull.
The seatbelt resists for a single heartbeat, stretching to its limit before snapping with a violent crack. His body whips free, hauled out into the open air, and the sudden shift rips the last dregs of his balance away.
He retches before he even hits the pavement. Everything lurches up, acid burning his throat, stomach wrenching itself inside out. His knees buckle, body folding gracelessly, head spinning so hard he can barely keep track of which way is up.

He turned, slow, to see the pool. The same pool he’d crawled out of. The glowing green surface rippled faintly from where he’d broken it, light spilling across the walls and ceiling like a warped reflection of water and fire. A sirens call of a photo to a photographer like Peter.
Fantastic. He’d just gone for a nice relaxing dip in the totally-not-evil vat of glowing ectoplasm. Great going, Parker. If this wasn’t the moment that finally turned him into a real spider-freak, he didn’t know what was.

“Why are you so stiff?,” he asked, squeezing their hands together. “What, scared somebody’s gonna think you actually like me?”
It came out as a joke, because everything did at first. Big, bright, a coin flip he always bet on.
Itrapped didn’t stop walking. His eyes flicked down, then ahead again. “Chance,” he said. “I know you like that sort of .. lovey dovey thing. But not where others can see, please?”
“Oh.” Chance’s mouth shaped the word before he could aim it at anything. His fingers unhooked automatically, obedient even when his chest wasn’t. He crammed his hand into his pocket like it had never been anywhere else. “Oh. Right. Yeah, sure. My bad.”

Banhammer goes to say something, said something bound to be stupid, but then the bedroom door whines open. Banhammer quite literally feels his erection flag at the reminder he has yet to replace the hinges.
However, what makes up for all of it is the surprised chuff coming from behind him, and the way Medkit raises a brow at their intruder.
“I didn’t think you’d actually convince him.”
Banhammer groans, squinting down at Medkit, “And what the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“We were talking about you earli—”
“—You don’t need to know.”
Medkit and who Banhammer knows is Katana behind him glance at each other, but the look is short-lived because Banhammer clips Medkit over the head and sneers at the indignant splutter the short man lets out. “I swear, you guys are weird as hell. So, is this what you’ve been daydreaming about, huh? Were you drooling over the thought of your prick inside my cunt?”
The flush deepening over Medkit’s skin and the curse he spews into his murmuring feeds Banhammer’s every-growing amusement.
