Adam is hurting, has been hurting, has been waiting.
“No you don't.” Adam had said “You're just a fucking coward with a hero complex afraid no one will truly love you.” It had hurt. It had been intended to hurt. When you know a person inside and out, the smell of their skin and the rhythm of their breath, when you know someone completely, intimately, you know where it hurts. Adam had known and he had used it. Because Shiro must've also known that there wasn't anything in the world that could have hurt him more, so he had given it back. And shiro had shrunk into himself and Adam was too hurt to back down and then he left. Left earth, left Adam, left him angry, left him hurting, left him nothing but endless pain of losing. And then he was declared dead and Adam only knew that he was breathing because his chest was still moving

Time has become irrelevant. Keith trains, he sits in meetings, he eats, sometimes he sleeps, sometimes he just roams the castle, checks the maps again. He is so very tired. But when he is laying in bed his head is running marathons.
And then there are times, when he tries to sleep, and all he can think about are blue eyes and pink lips and brown skin and he gets so aroused he wants to punch something. Preferably Lance. But he can’t and so he just has an angry wank and a cold shower.Or: Keith is tired and has intense feelings and maybe they will figure it out together.

Keith didn't know what to expect from college. But it was certanily not to fall for a guy with fiddling hands and blue eyes, who calls him an asshole on their second meeting. But he does and he falls hard.
“Keith?” Lance turned around slowly, his voice slurred by the alcohol. “Have you ever been in a relationship?”
They were sitting in a dimly lit living room in a house Keith didn’t remember the owner of, both a bit drunk. Lance a bit more so. It was late. It was early. Most people had left by now. They hadn’t. Lance to high on finally getting Keith to go to a party with him, Keith to intoxicated by Lance’s smile.
“You mean in a romantic one?”
“Yes.”
“No.” Keith said.
“How?” Lance rolled even closer, robbed over the living room floor. Keith giggled and Lance smiled and the music went on.
“I guess no one asked me.”, Keith said. -

That wall, Lance wants to point out, is supposed to be soundproof. It shouldn’t let you hear anything, no matter how hard you listen. What he says instead is “I can’t breathe.”
“Take it slow.” Keith’s voice is steady, but as Lance’s eyes struggle to focus his face is a blur. The image goes shaky and then comes clear, shaky then clear, like looking into water. “Pretend it’s low tide. Tell me about the ocean again.”

He looks so hurt and indignant in the way only Dustin can, and maybe it’s not too late to run out after Steve and make their case for the beers again if it means the kid’ll stop frowning and looking at Eddie like that. It takes a minute for his words to sink in.
Eddie blinks. “What.”
“What do you mean, what? You kissed!”
“No, we didn’t,” Eddie scoffs.
Except, yes, they did. Realization crashes over him, the force of it stunning him into silence.
Steve kissed him. On the lips. Like it was nothing, like it was something they did every day.
And Eddie hadn’t even blinked or shoved him away or registered it at all, just returned the kiss and went right back to bossing Steve around, as if the whole fucking thing was the most natural thing in the world.
