“Did you even fight for me, sir?”
Price set his jaw, a flash of blue fury in his eyes.
“Nah, not you, not John Price,” Gaz smirked without any humour. “Already on his way to replace the broken part, isn’t he? The show must go on.”
Price finally held his eyes – just for a beat – before looking away. His voice remained controlled. “It was a clean op. Intel wasn’t great, but that’s what we work with. Your injury was—” he caught himself but steamrolled on “—bad luck.”
Gaz barked a laugh, full of pain in it. He could’ve punched him, if he wasn’t stuck to the bloody bed.
or: Gaz is medically discharged. He and Price don't handle it very well.

Summary
Copia is fairly certain that humans, usually, do not possess the biological capacity to purr. And if by some divine provenance any rare occurrences to the contrary were to be found, the likelihood of three such individuals congregating by chance in what is intended to be his private study is improbable, to say the least.
In which Cardinal Copia finally unlocks the filing cabinet drawer in his brain labelled 'personal ghoul based thoughts to confront at a later date'.

Summary
The Ghouls are influenced by the full moon and driven on instinct to find a partner to spend the ritual with. It's a ritual as old as the Ghouls and their time on earth.
Papa presses a hand to the top of his head and then cups both of his cheeks.
There is a shameful tug in his groin when Copia lifts his head and smiles down at him. He doesn’t want to know what Papa sees when he looks at him. His hands shake in his lap and his teeth chatter before he bites down hard enough to stop it.
“Careful, yes?” Papa murmurs, his accent curling around the words and prickling at Rain’s brainstem.

Summary
Dewdrop has an idea for a little skit him and Rain can do on stage to rile up the fans, namely, some good ol’ groping and choking. It goes terribly wrong. And then it goes terribly, terribly right.
“The choking. If you’re gonna do that, you have to do it right.”
Of all the things Dewdrop expected Rain to say? This wasn’t on the radar. This was so far off the damn radar it was in another dimension. Three thoughts flashed in Dewdrop’s brain at once: first, how dare this motherfucker insult his technique; second, how the fuck did Rain of all people know enough about choking techniques to correct anybody; and third, which was the one his brain decided to say out loud:
“What’s the right way then?”Bookmarked by MacePerrio11
