Summary
You turn the little chip over in your hand, warm from sitting close to the battery for who knows how long it’s been there. How long has it been there? Is this what gives Caleb a sense of security? Watching you? Knowing where you are?
You watch its red eye as you tuck yourself into bed, and imagine it a heartbeat. A little sun that flickers with each breath; a red giant whose warmth may have faded, but whose light refuses to go out.
As always, you dream of your brother.
While you’re busy navigating work obligations, crippling medical debt, and a heart that keeps you stuck in perpetual poverty, Caleb seems stubbornly set on taking care of you in his own way.

Summary
Caleb comes home from college, much to your excitement. Sadly, you'll be leaving soon for college yourself, leaving the nest and...him. He can't let this happen. He's already sick of pining after you, forever stuck in just the brotherly role he was forced in. He decides to take matters into his own hands, to cross the line and force you to confront the fact that he wants to be so much more.
He'll be whatever you need him to be. Just as long as he doesn't have to pretend he doesn't want to kiss you.
"Stop please...we c-can't do this," you pleaded, your voice a breathless whisper, your eyes darting wildly as you tried to push him away, your hands pressed firmly against his chest. Your struggle was futile, and Caleb knew it.
He sighed, a sound that was equal parts resignation and anticipation, and then his lips were on your neck, trailing hot, wet kisses that sent shivers down your spine. His hands roamed your body, exploring every curve and contour, his touch both possessive and tender. "You don't want this now," he whispered, his breath hot against your skin, "but I promise it'll feel good if you stop struggling. I've always taken good care of you haven't I?."

Summary
You stay there for more time than you can count, taking him in as you sometimes did when you were both younger. Admittedly it wasn't anything new, coming to his room, getting in bed with him, cuddling, seeking his comfort when sleep didn’t come easy for you.
But today wasn’t like that.
sometimes feelings are better conveyed with the lights off.
