Summary
The captains still in Seireitei radio in to speak to Ichigo's new demon friend, and things don't go as planned. A lot of information comes to light, and finding out that some of it was hidden on purpose was the last straw for some in Seireitei.
(I'll reread this in the morning when I'm not high off cold and allergy meds and sleep deprived, so if it doesn't make sense....sorry)

It's all hands on deck as the dead pile up, traumatic deaths creating hollows faster than the shinigami can konso them, and where the fuck did that hogyoku come from?
Probably the first in a couple of stories playing with this AU idea. Because dealing with Aizen's megalomaniacal bullshit isn't enough.

Initially published 2009I use single quotes ‘to mark dialogue’ not “doubles”. This is a British publishing standard according to the Oxford Style Manual, and it's just my habit these days 😁

“Ah, no, not particularly,” he starts hesitantly, fiddling with the buttons of his jacket, then swallows and says, “Edward, have we… ever… actually been on a date?”
Ed stares at him blankly. “We’ve been married for almost three years, Roy.”
Or: After realizing that they'd skipped the whole dating thing and jumped straight to married bliss, Roy attempts to give Ed the perfect first date that they'd missed out on.
