Summary
Katya Zamolodchikova used to live at the end of my street. Her family moved to Lenore's house (a lovely, quirky old lady, who owned many cats) when I was around seven years old. I remember Lenore but not as clearly as her outfits. She dressed like it was still 1955, which I found fascinating, but the neighbors were more preoccupied with the cats. When the Zamos moved in, their dislike shifted towards them instead. The Zamos were too loud, too often. Soon enough they became the Crazy Russian Family. Not that the other families in the street were wonderfully assembled, the trick was that everyone else was quietly dysfunctional.
This is a love story.

“I may have used my finger to do my makeup, but I’ve been told I have very skillful fingers,” Katya says with a shrug, smirking as she sees the light blush on Trixie’s cheeks.
