“What do I owe you for the drink?” Kakashi leaned forward, his hand reaching up to Iruka’s cheek.
“It’s on the house,” Iruka whispered back, his gaze held by the silver-haired nin’s onyx eye. He loved Kakashi’s eyes.
He could easily become lost in Kakashi’s eyes.
“Get a room,” Kotetsu crowed from across the table. Iruka ignored him, but felt a slight wave of satisfaction as an oomph followed soon after as someone—presumably Tenzo—elbowed the drunk nin in the side.
Kakashi’s eye-smile deepened and his gaze dropped to Iruka’s lips. “And what would I owe for a kiss?”
Iruka smirked, alcohol and upbeat music emboldening him. “Oh, take a wild guess.”

“You’ve got to actually be fucking joking,” Iruka spat, cutting him off. “You tracked us down and jumped us on a dare? Leave us alone.”
"Dare? Not just a dare." The fool jabbed a thumb at Kakashi. “This one proved his honor in the war—these mountains are desolate and it’s everyone for themselves.” He looked Iruka up and down again. “If you’re going to be up here, you’re going to need to prove you’ve got the guts.”
“As if you—I swear to fucking gods.” Iruka cut himself off and shook his head. “You know what? Fine.” Rage was boiling in his stomach now; he could feel it heating his face.
If the villagers, fighter—whoever they were—had been out to provoke him, they’d succeeded.

Unsteadily Kakashi glanced around, searching the clearing. The other two ROOT nin were on the ground, even the one that Kakashi only grazed. Both were pinned to the forest floor with more of Iruka’s seals.

“The others—”
Iruka pressed a finger to Kakashi’s lips. “Look up.”
Kakashi raised his gaze to the canopy above. His eyes widened.
“Oh…” A whisper escaped his lips.
