["Today is September 20th, isn't it?" Bruce asks, and Tim takes a second to count the days in his head before he nods slowly. "So then, happy birthday."
Tim looks at Bruce like he's crazy, which he clearly is, because Tim's birthday is on August 14th, not today, September 20th. Bruce should know this, considering he had given Tim the day off and Dick had taken him out for dinner.
"Bruce, my birthday is in August," Tim says plainly, exchanging looks with Damian, who knows too much about Tim after his attempts at trying to get rid of him (which Tim has mostly gotten over by now) and clearly knows that his birthday is in August. ]

Bruce wishes Tim happy birthday... and gives him an existential crisis.

Tim raked a hand through his greasy hair. “Look, I–I’m fucken’ sorry, man, I really am. I wouldn’t…I wouldn’t come here if I had anywhere else to go.”
“Fucking fantastic sales pitch, asshole,” Jason snarked, leaning against the doorframe. He's lost some of the rock-solid muscle that he'd been strapped with when Tim last saw him. Probably because he doesn't have a teenager to beat up.
“Jason, please. All I need is a safe place to crash for tonight, and I’ll be gone by morning. I’ll–I’ll make you breakfast, even.”
“Breakfast,” Jason said disbelievingly.
Tim nodded. “One night and breakfast.”
Jason gave him a long, withering look before sighing and pushing himself off the doorframe.
“Fine. Fine, fuck you, fine. Follow me and don’t steal anything.”

He's been addicted to oxycodone after being beaten within an inch of his life by a man that was supposed to be his brother, and after getting disowned by Bruce, he's left homeless and completely broke.
