Summary
“I will not apologize for speaking the truth,” the child says. “However, I regret if that truth has offended you.”
“Jesus Christ, kid,” Jim mutters.
“I am not offended,” Spock responds, as blandly as he is able. “I was remiss in casting such hasty judgment upon your guardian.”
”Father,” she corrects.
”Your father,” he agrees.
*****
An academy AU + Tarsus aftermath fic in which James T. Kirk ends up accidentally parentally bonded to an orphaned Vulcan child. When the father/daughter duo enroll in Star Fleet, hijinks ensue (mostly at the expense of Spock’s previously immaculate but quickly deteriorating self-control).

Summary
A look into the Personal Logs of a Linguist on Deep Space Nine, who is uncovering the funniest and sweetest translation errors, and trying to patch the UT along the way.
***
And if you had asked Lieutenant Wittgenstein, who was currently tasked with the next report on the use of the UT on Deep Space Nine, which was a special case, what with all the Gamma Quadrant languages mingling in the matrix now, nevermind the decidedly casual language the UT was being exposed to at Quarks, she could have told you a number of things. The UT memory bank transcripts, heavily encrypted and for the linguists’ eyes only, of course, were littered with missed moments, lost meanings, and mix-ups. For instance… -

Just their luck: Garak and Bashir are stranded together on an uninhabited alien planet. Over months, a mission for survival and a need to share body heat on chilly nights evolves into comfortable domesticity, with physical contact given and received whenever craved. But all perfect things must of course be ruined: their rescue team arrives. Only then do Garak and Bashir realise how intimate they’ve become without realising, and suddenly their shared urge to show gratuitous affection seems inappropriate as friends. But they can’t give it all up, now... can they?

Summary
In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them. The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.
Other consequences are not short-term at all.
Archived Author's Notes:
I was watching the Chamber of Secrets movie several years back when the scene in question began to play...and immediately I wanted to know what would happen if the wand had done what it was supposed to do. The answer got very complicated, very, *very* quickly.Blame Edgar Allan Poe for the title.
Beta work by Norcumi and Mrs_Stanley. Brit Spellcheck will be performed...soon.
*I use the first 7 books and the Tales of Beedle the Bard as canon, but there are moments from the films used because they left me with fun things to play with.
I do not consent to my work being reposted or used in any unofficial apps or other websites. This work is not posted for anyone's profit.

Summary
Jim’s hands closed around Spock’s biceps. He stared into his husband’s luminous brown eyes, breathless, lips barely parted.
“Not in front of the Klingons, Captain,” Spock chided.
Jim closed his mouth. Instead of letting go, his fingers tightened in the scarlet fabric of Spock’s uniform. “Alright, Spock” His voice lowered to a seductive whisper, “But if I ever get to show you off in front of the Romulans I’m gonna shake the paint off your walls.”

Our beloved Old Married Spirk have been sent off on yet another diplomatic mission. They’re an (in)famous presence in Federation politics, so really, everyone should know what to expect from them. If you bug their rooms you deserve what you see and hear.Enjoy canon level “diplomacy,” the eternal mediocrity of conference centers, and lighthearted middle aged sex.
