Jiang Cheng wakes up alone as the story originally goes, but this time, Wei Wuxian does not. Of course they meet again, but Wen Qing has no choice but to tell Jiang Cheng what really happened atop that mountain.
This is about figuring out what's most important in the midst of war, and Jiang Cheng finding a friend in Nie Mingjue, and unexpectedly, that friendship turns into something more.
There's anger, heart-ache, and trying to reconcile just how much their lives' have changed. Jiang Cheng is forced to reconcile what he really feels, along with the help of Nie Huaisang, Wen Qing, and and of course Lan Wangji.

UPDATE: Sorry for the delay! I've just been working on personal writing, and more recently a fic gift-exchange, but I have some time now to refocus on this story.
There will be a part two in which Rick and Tyreese (and Carl, who already sees her as a mother-figure) are factoring Michonne into their relationship. I couldn't write an AU where Rick isn't in love with Michonne, I just couldn't. Their love is too powerful; but that's another story (the next one, in fact!).
