On the brink of the winter's deepest cold, UrVa finds himself strangely restless, preoccupied by thoughts of his past among other mystics--the good memories of the winter nights they shared, and the more troubling memories of when he was renamed as the Archer. In the growing cold and approaching night, the solitude he normally prefers brings no comfort.
Into this troubled loneliness walks UrGoh, bringing gifts and news from the Valley. The past trine has been a time of great change for the urRu, and there is much to ponder in what UrGoh has brought. Still, it remains a joy for UrVa and UrGoh to share this winter night, to sing together as mystics, and share a heat that no hearth crystal can match.
Who is UrVa, as the Archer, in the winter of the Endless Forest? With UrGoh's love, perhaps UrVa can know, and perhaps the past need not weigh on him so heavily.

Hi everyone! This fic first existed in the form of pages in a 4” by 6” notebook. This notebook was one of a few that one of my best friends (TrashSlinger) and I passed around in middle school in the early 2000s. The experience is difficult to recreate on Ao3 but I wanted to put this up as a testimony to the Power of Friendship!
I also need anyone who reads this to know that Gohan’s dialogue was written by TrashSlinger in special handwriting. This was the case for all of Gohan’s dialogue throughout all notes and notebooks, very helpful for knowing how to respond.
I was tempted to name this file “Science” in honor of the folder on her family’s computer that TrashSlinger kept typed fanfiction in. As far as I know that deception did work and no one else checked on the Science homework.

UrGoh and SkekGra finally get to do something they've really wanted to ever since their first time together. UrGoh, in particular, has gone to significant trouble to make sure it's good for both of them. SkekGra contributes a lot of enthusiasm and trust.
Interwoven, of course, are thoughts on love, pleasure, giving and taking, feeding and consuming, and the things that are new between SkekGra and UrGoh, and only for each other, despite both their long pasts.

After UrSen's checkup, UrIm and UrLii talk about what UrSen might mean in relation to the other urRu in the Valley, and what needs they all might be ignoring because they seem unthinkable.

Summary
In an alternate world, Sandy Zie works as a tester of pleasure constructs, artificially created humanoids whose sole purpose is to provide sexual pleasure for their wealthy owners. Their current assignment is a "Pitch" model, their favorite type. It would be just an ordinary, delightful day at work for Sandy, except that there's something a little different about this Pitch. They're just a bit more aware and talkative than most Pitches are so soon after decanting, and this starts Sandy on a path to finally letting themselves think about things they've been squashing down since they took this job.
But no matter what Sandy learns or thinks, what can it matter? The Pitch will be delivered to their new owner on schedule and permanently bonded with them. Yet even for testers and constructs, there's still a chance to get what they want in the end.
Come for the kinks. Stay to think about what it means to be human under capitalism.
