Summary
He’d always tried to keep – his boys, as she’d put it – out of the firing line, as much as he could. With Shazam, that wasn’t an option. You put him directly in the line of fire or you didn’t use him.
More than once he'd seen Shazam take hits for his teammates that would have killed anyone mortal. It didn’t do him any harm – any physical harm – but he was fourteen. He shouldn’t have to use his own body to protect people.
But this was the hand they had been dealt. All they could do was make the best of it.
Batman reflects on Shazam.

Shazam didn’t understand how taxes worked. He always seemed kind of lost when they talked politics. Wally often had the sense that he was nodding along with things he didn’t really understand. He knew what vaping was. Inexplicably he knew what TikTok was. Weird guy.
The Justice League try to adjust to their newest member. They know he's hiding something from them, but in their line of work everyone has secrets. Shazam's no different. Is he?
Or, the Justice League accidentally inducts a child and then deals with the fall-out.

Fizzy's is a little diner not far from where Jason grew up. He and his mother ate there on really good days. It was run down, and the building was older than dirt, but their menu was both delicious and relatively cheap.
