When Wally types Ready for Homecoming? in the chat box, Maddie's initial reaction is a twinge of irritation. She's certain his next question will be if she minds finishing up their lab report by herself.

Maddie stares at her computer screen in disbelief. She’s not sure which part is crazier: that Wally Clark just asked her out, or that he did it via a shared Google document.
-----------------Maddie's plan for senior year is simple: keep her head down, her grades up, and focus on getting the hell out of Split River.

Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase don't want to tell anyone that they are children of literal Greek gods, as they don't want any unnecessary attention attracted towards them. For now, they just want to live peacefully. however, despite every painstaking quest, they manage to catch the eye of one more force out to get them. they can't take it alone.
Gwen befriends a couple in a mythology class she took just for the fun of it. It was an interesting topic and an easy source of credits. They seemed to be hiding something. She was, too. On top of her and her boyfriend Miles adjusting to college and juggling their double lives as Spiderman and Spiderwoman, the new couple brings back painstaking memories of her Peter, whom she lost because of her own stupidity. A new villain comes into town, and she believes it's up to her to protect New York.
