If Franziska von Karma cannot have her papa or her brother or her vengeance, she can at least have the best substitution: the man who prosecuted the case that should have been hers staring up at her, face framed through purple-gray bangs. To anyone else, Barok is terrifying; to Franziska he is small beneath it all, alone and grieving, glancing away in a manner so familiar it makes her heart ache.
Despite being a submissive herself, Franziska tries to serve as a dominant for Barok while battling her own needs.

Summary
During the first Ace Attorney game, Miles Edgeworth says he prosecutes ruthlessly in an attempt to convict criminals. Meanwhile, when describing his motives in hindsight, later games, like Justice For All, put emphasis on his “win record” and Manfred's direct influence instead.
This essay outlines the different ways Miles’s motives during and before AA1 are explained throughout several games, and explains why I would have preferred they stayed the same.

Summary
She thinks of Joan of Arc, hair cropped and boyish, noble to the last as she was burned at the pyre. She thinks of Sebastian, pierced by arrows and then later awash in some Roman sewer. When she was younger, she'd had a strange sort of fascination with sainthood, the rite and ritual of it, the finality and progression of it. She'd been fascinated by a lot of things when she'd been younger. Now, she is just a hollow shell cupped to an ear. Now she is just a blunted instrument and there is nowhere for her to send her strange and directionless emotions so they just hang heavy from her throat.
She says: "I am scared of it."
Miles' voice, careful, careful not to press on the bruise too hard: "Of being happy?"
Or, Franziska fixes a chair.
