Summary
There is a wishing tree on the outskirts of Kansas. People believe it is haunted, because sometimes, in the quiet, in an echo of the wind, you can hear the voice of a lost loved one. That is because this particular cedar tree was a former doorway to Heaven, the thinnest space between earth and the veil.
Dean doesn’t know any of this; he just knows it’s a place Cas liked to go because it’s peaceful, reminiscent of the angel’s favorite Heaven of an eternal Tuesday in a garden. The loss of Castiel is a pain that runs deep, so much so he is unable to move on.
Like clockwork, Dean finds himself sitting in the shadow of the tree every Sunday, spoken words unheard as he spends hours fruitlessly updating the angel on all of the happenings of their lives. Without him. Cas wasn’t a big talker, so sometimes, Dean is able to pretend he’s there, listening to every word that escapes. And sometimes he just can’t.
That is, until the day he swears he hears Castiel’s voice.

Summary
After a suicide attempt the year before, Castiel Novak is back on tour with his band, trying to be happy despite the magnifying glass his team has on him. After a rebellious night, his team decides they need backup. It comes in the form of a hired body guard - someone to be with Castiel 24/7. Dean Winchester, a former Navy SEAL who prefers jobs that don't involve stuck-up, rich boy rock stars, but who could really use the money, accepts the contract.
