In the bandit camp Maomao is questioned a little more incessantly on the topic of her supposed husband.

There can be no future for their relationship in truth, but just, says the little voice in the back of her head, imagine."In which Maomao has to improvise and talk some more about her "husband", Xiaohong grows stronger and is smarter than anyone gives her credit for, and Jinshi is only there by hearsay, until he finally has his Maomao back. Then he is, once again, so in love.

In which Jinshi’s personal maid and apothecary, omega-turned-beta Maomao investigates a peculiar mystery close to home, Gaoshun questions his will to live, and Jinshi successfully avoids both going to work and getting dressed - for the duration of this story at least.
