Summary
She dimly peers across the small clearing, seeking out their third companion. Frieren's hair glimmers like threads of spidersilk that caught the moonbeams in its web, catching light even when the embers of their fire had near dwindled down into faint sparks. Lawine wonders what she uses for her hair.
"Thank you for being there," she murmurs, meeting Frieren's eyes in the dark.
A pregnant pause, the sound of movement in the dark as Frieren faces her. Her words are just as quiet, her low voice almost inaudible. "You weren't asleep." As Lawine feels her cheeks heat, the elven mage continues, "You'd have done a better job of comforting her than I did."
Missing scene between Chapter 38 and 39 (or Episode 18 and 19). Lawine's perspective on Frieren during the first part of the first-class mage exams, concurrent with small glimpses into her relationship with Kanne.
