He was trying to patrol Gotham in the dark night with a man who glowed brighter than the fucking sun… in his bright ass red, blue and yellow costume with trunks on the outside of them… with his bright assortment of powers. But what makes patrol so much more worse tonight?
It was because Superman is a man in love.
Like sickingly, mid 90’s to early 2000’s, Brat Pack, Sixteen Candles levels of puppy love.
And Bruce Wayne hates it here. If he thought doing patrol on his relationship anniversary was his least favorite thing? It’s now been topped by Clark Kent babbling about this Lois Lane chick who Selina became quick friends with. Clark talks about her like she’s a goddess, and the worst part? Clark Kent won’t shut the fuck up to save his god damn life.
or... Bruce Wayne hates a lot of things, and that includes trying to patrol with Clark Kent, and Clark Kent? He's annoyingly in love, and he won't shut up about it.

However, when his hands touch the side… he doesn’t feel her warm skin, doesn’t feel the material of his flannel— but instead, he feels the empty space on the bed, the ice cool bedsheets, the space that had once held his girlfriend on changed with the dip of the mattress coming back to regular shape.
Lois isn’t there.
His brows furrowed as his hand patted around the sheets, half asleep and very confused. His fingers touching every space on the bed— did she go towards the edge? Is she closer to him than he thought? But nothing. No body. Lois never got out of bed first— not after nights like the previous one. They'd both gone to sleep well past midnight, both bodies very sore and very bruised. Her voice hoarse after moaning his name for two hours, feeling him all up in her guts, her body trembling in his arms as the two of them fell asleep in a mess of limbs. He knew he fucked her good, and she never got up after getting her back broken.
Or... a Clois inspired fic about that one picture of the guy shirtless, hunched over on a laptop making the rounds on Twitter.

The man had headed out without announcing his departure, leaving the room key on the dresser. That wasn't out of the ordinary, though she still wondered when exactly he had left. He had paid for three nights, but she was fairly certain he had only stayed for two.
Going in to prepare the room for the next guest, everything was pretty orderly and clean. Except for the ceiling.
Tan and brown footprints of faint, dried mud were on the ceiling, directly above the path from the window to the door, as if someone in muddy socks had paced back and forth.
