The Omega tried to cower away and cover his face but the Alpha too quickly reached across the table and cupped his chin in a huge hand, forcing him to look up and into the light again.
“It--it was nobody.” Anthony stammered as the Alpha loomed closer to peer at the ugly bruises. “I-- I’m clumsy, it was nothing. No one. No one hit me. It’s alright. I'm fine”
“Tis not alright.” A brush of calloused thumb at the Omega’s jaw, the softest touch he’d had in years, and Anthony was mortified when tears sprang to his eyes. “Does it hurt?”
“I--” Anthony nearly lied, but another feather soft touch at his cheek had him whispering soft, “Yes. Very much so.”
“The nobody that blackened your eye will never do so again, do you understand? They will never touch you again.” Conviction burned bright in Thor’s good eye. “You are safe with me, little runaway.”

Summary
When Thor returns to Earth, the first place he goes is the Avengers Compound. He is anxious to see his friends, and more than a little anxious to see Tony--hoping to perhaps pick up their cuatious flirting and little moments together they had had before Ultron.
But the compound is empty, and Tony is a mess- drinking himself to sleep and not eating anymore, not even working in his lab anymore. And when Thor learns what happened while he was gone, what happened in Russia, he decides to stay and try to help.
Tony doesnt want his help, but Thor stays anyway--soothing nightmares, and making food and trying to show Tony that he is still beautiful and worthwhile.And one ngiht, with storms raging outside the window, Tony gives in and lets Thor love him like hes always wanted to, and they find comfort and peace in each others arms.
But when the team comes home, Thor realizes that some of Tonys wounds might never heal, that things might never be alright again.

Summary
Thor is not stupid. He knows that is the general assumption, but he isn't. (Alright, so he's a little stupid, but that's neither here nor there.) He sees far more than people realize. Lately, he's seeing one thing in particular - Stark and just how much he reminds Thor of Loki. It is like looking at a distorted reflection. He sees and he acts. He will not let Stark walk down the same road Loki did. If he cannot save his brother, then maybe he can save his shield brother instead. Funny how this decision changes everything.

....Thor knew he was thoroughly intruding on Tony’s privacy by entering the penthouse suite of rooms uninvited, but the Dominant intruded anyway, slipping through the half open door and then shutting it quietly behind himself, following the trail of discarded belongings-- the tablet, Tony’s watch, his shoes, a jacket-- towards the huge ensuite bathroom and over to the giant bath tub.“...Anthony.” All the air rushed out of Thor in a whoosh when he found Tony huddled in the far corner of the bathtub, fully dressed and hiding his face in his arms, shivering in the cool air and clutching at his own skin hard enough to leave indents and closer to his elbow, hard enough to draw blood that dripped in bright scarlet onto the cold porcelain.
Terrified. Alone. Desperately needing a guiding touch. Submissive.
...Tony was a submissive?
"My darling." the Dom whispered hoarsely, as everything 'wrong' about Tony's behavior suddenly made perfect sense. "I didn't see you before, but I see you now."

"I programmed us friendship bracelets together." Tony suddenly seemed shy. "Any time I think about you or you think about me, we can tap the charm and the other person's piece will light up and then no matter how far away we are, we know we're thinking about each other."
Rhodey's mouth parted in surprise. "Tony--"
"I've never had a best friend." Tony's shoulders hunched. "I don't even know if I've ever had a real friend. And I dunno what you did in another life to deserve the bullshit that was me at fifteen years old, but you saved me and you're my best friend."
Softer, "I'm always going to be a robot tinkering, lab dwelling, gremlin but you’re going to be a hero. And when I see you on the news, I can tap right here," Rhodey's bracelet lit up, and Tony's smile wavered tremulous. "and you'll know I'm proud of you.”
"Tones." James yanked Tony into a long hug. "Thank you."
"It's a stupid gift, right?"
"Stop." James plonked a kiss in the middle of that ridiculous hair. "I'm gonna keep it forever."
"No you won't." Tony squirmed and blushed. "You don't have to."
"I'm going to wear this everyday."
"Rhodey! No you wont!"
"Fucking WATCH me."
